Salesforce is reducing certificate lifespans from 200 days down to 47 by 2029.
Forty-seven days.
I set my oven timer to 47 minutes once. Forgot about it, walked back in to a smoke alarm that’ll haunt me for years.
That’s what this feels like. You blink, you’re replacing it again.
They’re also deprecating dual-use certificates, which is corporate-speak for “pick a lane and commit.” And they completed the transition to DigiCert’s root, which I guess means someone won a game of whack-a-mole.
You’ll need to renew certs every month and a half by 2029. That’s not security. That’s a part-time job with better benefits.
But sure. High security standards.
I unplugged the smoke alarm and put the recipe away.
Yield: 47 days.
